Understanding the importance of self-care is key to your recovery and overall happiness. Self-care includes any activity that you do to improve your mental, physical, and emotional health, all of which are tightly interlinked.

It's about you

While it’s a simple concept, it’s often an area of our lives that we tend to neglect. Together, we’ll make self-care a focus. We will uncover the activities you love to do, and set aside time in your schedule for the little things that make you happy. Some simple examples of self-care activities include:

  • Go For a Walk

  • Enjoy your favorite hobby (drawing, sports, singing, etc.)

  • Prepare and eating a healthy meal

  • Create time to relax and unwind

vs. Counseling

There’s a distinct difference between coaching and counseling. With a counselor, you’ll discuss your past to find the root of your anxiety and/or depression, and your counselor may recommend a treatment plan. Of course, a huge part of your recovery is understanding where these feelings stem from. 

However, when you work with an anxiety life coach, we will focus on building a positive future. We’ll talk through personal changes that can be made in your life to improve your overall wellbeing and discuss coping methods that can help to ease your anxiety and/or depression.

If a therapist or counselor has recommended treatment for your anxiety or depression, it is imperative to continue following that treatment plan. However, the weight of depression and anxiety can make it difficult just to complete your usual day-to-day tasks. Adding something new to your schedule and sticking with it may feel very challenging.
